Next year when the 9/11 memorial opens there is a big concern about how many more tour buses will clog downtown city streets. In an attempt to help minimize additional traffic Statue Cruises is encouraging bus drivers to park in Liberty State Park in nearby New Jersey and send tourists across the Hudson on ferries. The tourists would land at the World Financial Center in Battery Park City, only a short walk from the World Trade Center site. It seems we aren’t the only ones excited about this idea; Michael Burke, vice president of Statue Cruises, got positive feedback when he presented the idea to Community Board 1’s World Trade Center Redevelopment Committee.
