It’s no secret that New York City is known for the wonderful fireworks on the Fourth of July, but what is there to do during the day while it’s still to bright out for fireworks? Grammy Award-winning artist Dan Zanes and The River To River Festival are offering a day full of free music for all ages in Battery Park. Named “one of the city’s most compelling summer series” by the New York Times, the River To River Festival is New York’s largest free summer arts festival. It’s a great way to enjoy the holiday without having to deal with the hassle of leaving the city. The day of free concerts and music will conclude with Zanes leading a marching band made up of members of the public playing “76 Trombones” on their own brass instruments.
