Battery Park City is host to a very special softball game every year. Lids For Kids is an annual game that joins neurosurgeons and the children whose lives they helped save. The kids ranged in age from six to 17 and each had a chance to play along side the doctors who operated on them and doubled as head-coaches for the afternoon as proud parents watched.
“When we operate on children, this sort of becomes a family for us. And these are kids we will see for the rest of their childhood,” said Dr. Jeffrey Greenfield of Weill Cornell. NY1 has a great video and the full story here.
